Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be better able to:
Identify relevant anatomical landmarks, sonoanatomy, and nerve distributions targeted in the fascia iliaca compartment block.
Differentiate the fascia iliaca compartment block from other regional anesthesia techniques for lower extremity analgesia, including femoral nerve block and lumbar plexus block.
Implement aseptic technique, optimal patient positioning, and appropriate ultrasound-guided needle insertion methods.
Collaborate with the interprofessional healthcare team, including clinicians, nurses, and pharmacists, to integrate the block into multimodal pain management protocols.
